Presale Inspection & Validation Work For '57 FI Corvette

TO BE SOLD AT AUCTION ON BRING A TRAILER, JULY 2019

DESCRIPTION: This car has undergone an extensive body off restoration. The only evidence showing the
restoration is somewhat aged is a few small areas on the front fenders valley at the fake scoops where the paint has
checked, otherwise the entire car looks fresh. The car appears to have been kept indoors its entire life and has had
little use as no evidence of rust exists anywhere. All components at the dash are original and in excellent to mint
condition. The chrome at the windshield and door posts look original, not rechromed, and are like new. Grill bar and
teeth chrome look freshly done. Outer three grill teeth, #s 27, 28, 29 come to a point, unlike the reproduction
counterparts. Front and rear bumpers don't look quite as sharp, could be original chrome, we've seen it before, very
rare. The mirrors and other parts we show as untouched originals also bear out care and limited use. This is a 62 year
old car. We tend to believe the mileage shown on the speedometer is accurate.

The underside is amazing. Chassis components look new. Frame looks like it just arrived in a GM box. No pits or
painted over pits found anywhere, we know where to look, we've done many body offs. Rear cross member, also
new looking, has the large round headed factory rivets.

Interior is excellent with new upholstery and carpet. The steering wheel looks new but has small pits at chrome spoke
bezels, probably original. Seat frames and sliders restored. The seats feel just right leaving clearance at the steering
wheel for driver's legs, probably upholstered over original foam. New foam is a little big and more dense, for these cars
its critical. Dash underside is impressive with new wiring, firewall insulation, heater components. Remaining original
hardware restored.

Engine and engine compartment superb, restored to factory new. Runs like a watch with solid lifters faintly audible. Not
surprisingly, the FI plenum had been replaced with the improved '58-'59 type since the original '57 fuel meter had problems.
Owner has used high octane Aviation or racing fuel since restoration. Exhaust color at tail pipe medium to dark gray.

Convertible top is new with appropriate rear window warning tag. Top frame was restored. Top fabric and warning tag look
fresh out of the box. The rear latches are very rare originals and are in mint condition. Tires have incorrect size white wall.

Damage history: Its got some though a little unusual. There are fiberglass mat reinforcement patches approximately 8inches X
6 inches laid to the underside of the front fenders both sides, top and middle of fenders. The entire front of car body from light to
are flawless original factory fiberglass. All original bonding strips are present and unaltered, as if a tree branch fell on the car.
The rest of the car body is clean and straight, without any evidence of prior repair.

Car has original gas tank and until today had original gas filler neck hose fastened with original Wittek clamps stamped
