| DESCRIPTION: This
1961 Corvette has been in the care of its present owner, Joe Depaolo for
the past 14 years. It has had very little use by either of its two owners since new and
has always been garaged. The car has 47,000 original miles since new. As most
of the pictures on this page show, it is absolutely like new throughout.
Mr Depaolo has used the car primarily on weekends and has only added about 400 miles to its history. His recent restoration of the car was done in a manner to retain the car's authenticity while making it look and operate like new. He removed the body to paint frame and suspension components.
Condition: Car is like new throughout, runs like a top, new red paint , mostly original interior, completely authentic like new (about a 10 on 1-10 scale). This Corvette has never been damaged and the frame is excellent. Engine compartment, lacking only original clamps and decals. Upper radiator hose looks to be the original from 1961. The car uses no oil. All options in good working order. Driving: This is one of the best early Corvettes we have ever driven, including those we have completely restored. It drives like it is on rails, hands off. There is virtually no gear lash when you let off the gas and this is one of a very few that has no hitch in the steering box. Paint: Paint is optimum, color is perfect. It has a urethane clear coat whose fine texture has replicated the factory original perfectly. Mileage Validation: Previous appraiser called previous owner and verified mileage shown. Most telling clue is the tach face. While taking interior pics we noticed that the light coming into the car brightened the upper dash, speedo, upper door panels, and map tray. It also lightened only the upper 1/2 of the tach face. The red line at 5500 RPM looks a little faded as we have come to expect. The red lettered word "TACH" located on the lower 1/2 of the tach face looks new. The car has the original brake & clutch pads, identified by "A H" trademark on the back of the pads. Repros have tmcs on the back. Reason for selling: Lack of use in 14 years. OPTIONS and Features:
