In 1978 at age 16, Donny Innis bought his first car, a 1958 Corvette. It was a pretty good car but old and tired. With a little help from the shop foreman at work, Stretch, he set out to make the car like new. Stretch lived near Rowley Corvette where he was aware of the many ongoing restoration projects they were doing on similar vehicles at that time. Over the next two years, Donny and Stretch separated the body from the frame, rebuilt the drive line, suspension components, and painted the frame. Stretch had been repairing cars at his house for most of his life. The body was set back on the frame, then stripped and painted. The interior was last. Donny had Rowley Corvette install a new white top, dash pad, and rebuild the seats. He and Stretch did the rest. That Christmas Donny's father gave him new Firestone wide white tires and N.O.S. hub caps. Throughout the restoration process the new parts were purchased at Rowley Corvette. Each time purchases were made questions were asked. The staff at Rowley Corvette became involved as mentors to the project. Now with a wife and two kids Don has decided to sell his Corvette.
