U.S. researchers say that writing a diet diary can help people determine where the excess calorie intake comes from, so as to develop a more detailed plan to help lose weight. The team asked the study subjects to eat less meat, more vegetables, fruits and unrefined cereals during the six-month period, while walking and other forms of exercise 180 minutes a week, participate in group meetings, and write a diary to record the content of their diet and food calorie status.
The results showed
that those who kept a diet diary lost an average of 8 kg, while those who did not lost an average of only 4 kg. According to experts, “Diet diaries don’t have to be moderate. You can sketch what you eat on sticky notes, or you can send a list of your diet to your e-mail address, or you can send yourself a text message.”
